Power over Ethernet is found in applications ranging from campus edge ethernet switches (PSE) to desktop IP phones, IP cameras, 5G access points, and WiFi access points (PD). SkyworksPoE products offer complete solutions for both ends of the Ethernet cable, backed by years of experience and robust IEEE 802.3 compliance.

  • Si3471: Si3471 is a single-port PSE controller. This device does not require a host MCU and is easy to configure, uses very little board space and includes a status LED driver. It is optimized for mid-spans and PoE injectors.
  • Si3474/3/2: Si3474/3/2 are multi-port PSE controllers. These devices support autonomous or hosted operation, automatically detecting valid Powered Devices (PDs) and cutting off port power when connected PDs are removed. In addition, each PSE device provides a full featured I2C register interface for advanced power management and control.
  • Si3404Si34061 Si34071Si3404 is a Class 3 15W powered device. Si34061 is a Class 4 30W powered device. Si34071 is a class 8 90W powered device. Combined with easy to use EVBs, our powered devices (PD) provide complete solutions for designing the new generation of PoE Powered Devices.

Isolated Smart Switching

Smart switches are ideal for driving resistive and inductive loads including solenoids, relays, and lamps commonly found in industrial control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLC). Skyworks’ smart switch offerings are 24 Volt-compatible, rigorously comply with IEC61131-2, and respond robustly to fault conditions like open circuits, over-current, over-voltage, and over-temperature.

  • Si834X: Si834x devices provide four isolated high- or low-side switches with low "ON" state switch resistance. Si834x switches are ideal for driving resistive and inductive loads including solenoids, relays, and lamps commonly found in industrial control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLC). Each switch is galvanically isolated for safety using our groundbreaking CMOS based isolation technology.

Si834x switches are extremely robust and flexible load drivers and are capable of providing up to .5 A of IEC61131-2 compliant continuous current in a quad channel configuration. Each switch can detect an open circuit condition and is protected against over-current, over-voltage from demagnetization (inductive kick or flyback voltage), and over-temperature conditions. An innovative multi-voltage smart clamp is used to efficiently handle an unlimited amount of demagnetization energy (EAS).

Traction Inverter

Traction inverters drive multiphase AC motors in electric and hybrid electric vehicle drivetrains, drawing power from high voltage battery banks and generating the waveforms necessary for motor commutation. Skyworks' digital isolation, isolated current and voltage sensors, and isolated gate drivers provide the necessary components for highly-efficient, robustly-monitored electric drivetrain locomotion.

  • Si8935: The SI893x’s 0 to 2.25 V specified input range is ideal for isolated voltage sensing. The Si8935/36/37 provides delta-sigma modulated output with flexible options for external or internally generated clocks. The Si893x provides excellent linearity with low offset and gain drift to ensure that accuracy is maintained over the entire operating temperature range.
  • Si8284: Si828x isolated gate drivers are ideal for driving Silicon Carbide (SiC) FETs, IGBTs, and silicon MOSFETs in a wide variety of inverter and electric vehicle systems, and support up to 5.0 kV RMS and withstand voltage per UL1577, enabling higher-performance, reduced variation with temperature and age, tighter part-to-part matching, and superior common-mode rejection compared to other isolated gate driver technologies.
  • Si894x: The Si894x is a galvanically isolated delta-sigma modulator that outputs a digital signal proportional to the voltage level at the input. The low-voltage differential input is ideal for current measurement using shunt resistors or for any place where a sensor must be isolated from the control system.

On-Board Charger

On-board chargers convert externally-applied AC voltage to DC voltage suitable for storing energy in on-vehicle battery banks in electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Skyworks' digital isolation, isolated current and voltage sensors, and isolated gate drivers provide the necessary components for high voltage battery bank recharge with the highest energy density and lowest physical volume.

  • Si8931: The SI893x’s 0 to 2.25 V specified input range is ideal for isolated voltage sensing. Flexible output options include differential analog (Si8931) and single-ended analog (Si8932). The Si893x provides excellent linearity with low offset and gain drift to ensure that accuracy is maintained over the entire operating temperature range.
  • Si823H7: Si823Hx devices are robust gate drivers for silicon-, GaN- or SiC-based power converter systems, such as SMPS or inverters. Features include a robust 30 V driver VDD capability, low latency for tighter loop control, noise filtering; high CMTI of 125 kV/µs, -5 V voltage withstand on output pins and over-temperature protection.
  • Si88321: Si88xx automotive products offer a complete isolation solution, combining high speed digital isolators with an isolated power supply. These products are ideal for automotive applications including battery management, PTC heaters, traction inverters, and on-board chargers.

PTC Heaters
Positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heaters provide in-cabin heating to assure passenger comfort, converting stored high voltage power to heat as part of an electric or hybrid electric vehicle’s HVAC system. Skyworks' digital isolation, isolated current and voltage sensors, and isolated gate drivers provide the necessary components for high voltage heating system designs with robust efficiency and stable and consistent heat delivery.
