As industrial laser implementations continue to increase in precision manufacturing applications, reliability and consistency are essential. To help meet the unique power needs of these applications, ABB Power Conversion has purpose-built a new liquid-cooled, three-phase, 75-volt (V) rectifier – its CC7500. Designed for heavy pulse-load applications such as industrial lasers, the rectifier provides the consistent, dependable power needed for precision manufacturing processes.
The latest addition to ABB’s CC-series rectifiers, the CC7500 features a low-line 200/208/240 VAC input that enables its use in regions where low-line utility power is available, like Japan, a wide-range 75 VDC nominal output (65 - 80 V), and redundant +5 VDC standby power. The fully sealed power supply is IP65-rated to protect against harsh elements that may be present in a manufacturing environment. It is available in liquid-cooled configurations with dripless connectors or in conduction-cooled versions with integrated heat sinks, providing flexible, efficient cooling options for applications.
The CC7500 rectifier features a standard ModBus/RS485 communications interface, enabling it to communicate with industry-standard programmable logic controllers which are commonly used to control manufacturing processes. The rectifier also meets a variety of safety (UL1012), environmental, and regulatory requirements including EN62477-1/IEC61207-1; FCC part 15(A); EN55032 Class A; EN/IEC 61000-3-12; EN60555-2; and EN61000 immunity and transient standards. At just 8.6 inches wide by 2.0 inches high by 19.5 inches deep, its compact footprint allows both horizontal and vertical orientation for minimum width and maximum stacking density.
“Laser manufacturers and those designing industrial equipment such as industrial microwave processes, ultraviolet curing and coating, and radio-frequency heating, for example, require power solutions that can keep pace with innovation and growing demands,” said Gopal Mitra, industrial segment leader at ABB Power Conversion. “The CC7500 is purpose-built to support heavy-duty cycling and robust, fast transient response load handling. And with its flexible, liquid-cooled packaging, the CC7500 helps to mitigate waste for meaningful OpEx savings.”
Additional Features:
Additional key features of the CC7500 industrial rectifier include:
- Wide operating temperature range of 2 to 50ºC.
