AiT Semiconductor Introduces LDO Voltage Regulator for Cellular Applications

AiT Semiconductor, a leading fabless IC design company ISO9001/ISO14001 registered, devoted to the design and marketing analog & mixed signal integrated circuits, has introduced A6518A, a CMOS-based low dropout voltage regulator (LDO) that has been designed to cater to cellular phones, PCS equipments, switching power regulation, power management of MP3, PDA, DSC, mouse, and PS2 games, and battery-powered applications.

This LDO regulator requires a supply voltage from 1.7 to 7.5 V and provides an adjustable output voltage from 1.2 V to 5.0 V. It has a low dropout voltage of 450 mV (at an output current of 500 mA and output voltage of 3.3 V).

The A6518A includes high accuracy voltage reference, error amplifier, current limit circuit and output driver module with discharge capability. It also offers excellent load and line transient response and good temperature characteristics, which can assure the stability of chip and power system.

The regulator is equipped with built-in protection circuits such as foldback short-circuit protection, thermal protection and output current limit function to prevent over-current or over-temperature related damages, thereby ensuring safety and reliability during operation.

This LDO regulator is RoHS-compliant and is available in a compact SOT-25 package with tape and reel and halogen-free packaging type.
