AiT Semiconductor Unveils Synchronous Buck DC-DC Converter for Battery-Powered Applications

AiT Semiconductor, a leading fabless IC design company ISO9001/ISO14001 registered, devoted to the design and marketing of analog & mixed-signal integrated circuits, has introduced the A7801B, a buck(step-down) DC-DC converter that provides synchronous operations for digital cameras, USB OTG, LED driver and smart card readers.

The A7801B is a low noise, constant frequency (1MHz) switched capacitor voltage doubler. It provides regulated output voltage from a 2.1V to 5.0V input with up to 230mA of output current. Low external parts count (one flying capacitor and two small bypass capacitors at VIN and VOUT) make the A7801B ideally suited for small, battery-powered applications.

A7801B is a new charge-pump architecture that maintains constant switching frequency to zero load and reduces both output and input ripple. It has thermal shutdown capability and can survive a continuous short circuit from VOUT to GND. Built-in soft-start circuitry prevents excessive inrush current during start-up. The A7801B is available in a SOT-26 surface-mount package that measures 2.82 x 1.5 x 1.05 mm.
