Forsee Power, a trailblazer in smart battery systems for sustainable electromobility, announces an exciting collaboration with BAE Systems, a prominent provider of heavy-duty electric powertrains. This partnership marks a significant step forward in advancing green transportation solutions across North America.
At the heart of this collaboration is Forsee Power's cutting-edge ZEN PLUS battery system, chosen by BAE Systems to equip their Class 7 demonstration truck Gen3 powertrain. With Forsee Power's technology onboard, these trucks are set to revolutionize the transportation landscape by offering a zero-emission alternative without compromising performance.
The selection of Forsee Power's ZEN PLUS batteries underscores their exceptional capabilities, boasting a specific energy of 180 Wh/kg and a lifetime of over 5,000 cycles. These batteries not only provide an impressive average range of 200 EV miles but also enable extended operational periods without the need for frequent charging, ensuring optimal efficiency for heavy-duty vehicles.
Crucially, Forsee Power's commitment to local manufacturing is highlighted by their establishment of a North American headquarters and production facility in Columbus, Ohio. This strategic move reinforces their dedication to producing Buy America compliant battery systems, furthering the region's sustainability goals while stimulating the local economy.
Jay Deis, Vice President North America at Forsee Power, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "We are proud to collaborate with BAE Systems in the United States, with whom we share a common vision for sustainable, zero-emission transport. The electric truck market in the U.S. –and in the Americas in general– is the fastest growing in the world; from 3,000 units sold in 2022, it will grow to 70,000 in 2023. Class 7 trucks represent an ideal case for conversion to 100% battery powertrains. Our ZEN PLUS batteries will be manufactured in Columbus, Ohio from early 2024, where we will produce Buy America compliant battery systems to the commercial vehicle market."
