Diodes Incorporated Introduces Low Power ReDriver IC for Portable Electronic Applications

Diodes Incorporated has introduced, PI3EQX2034, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2 ReDriver IC that has been designed to boost signal quality and provide high signal integrity for USB type-C interfaces. This IC can thus be used to deliver high data rate at high signal strength, making it suitable for desktop PCs, all-in-one PCs, laptop PCs, and TV/monitors requiring high accuracy during data collection.

This low-power, 20 Gbps, USB Type-C, linear ReDriver supports backwards compatibility with USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 1 and provides adjustable linear equalization, output swing linearity, and flat gain optimizes performance over a variety of physical media by reducing inter-symbol interference.

The device meets USB Type-C specification 2.0, enabling it to detect the USB-C cable orientation and support SOURCE-mode (DFP) and dual-role- mode (DRP) ports. It also provides VCONN functionality to power active cables and other accessories through its pin with over-current protection and over-voltage protection that ensures safety and high reliability.

Key benefits

  • USB 3.2 Gen 2 x 2, Single-Port, Linear ReDriver- Supports 20 Gbps data rates in USB Type-C ports
  • Supports Modern Standby Mode- Enables system designers to meet the latest requirements
  • Individual Channel Adjustment of Linear Equalization, Output swing linearity, and DC flat gain Compensates signal losses of PCB trace lengths, which reduces inter-symbol interference
  • USB Type-C Spec. 2.0 Conformance with Integrated CC Detector Supporting DFP and DRP Modes and VCONN- Provides a simple solution for powering active cables and other accessories
  • Ultra-Small and Thin QFN3590-52L Package- Reduces PCB area and cost without extra PD controller
