COSEL Introduces AC-DC Power Supplies for Industrial Applications

COSEL has introduced the PDA line of AC/DC power supply, specifically designed for industrial applications, with improved reliability. The PDA series utilizes a quasi-resonant topology with a minimal number of components to achieve a superior price/performance ratio without compromising on quality. This design approach enhances reliability.

The PDA series is fully backward compatible in terms of form, fit, and function with the retiring PBA series, which has been powering large-volume applications worldwide for 20 years. The initial models released include the 15 W PDA15F, the 30 W PDA30F, and the 50 W PDA50F, with other variations to be introduced later. The PDA series is specifically engineered for versatile application usage and is capable of functioning across a broad temperature spectrum, ranging from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. The power supplies have obtained UL/EN62368-1 certification.

The PDA series is specifically engineered for global use, with an input voltage range of 85 VAC to 264 VAC for single-phase applications. It also complies with safety standards for an input voltage range of 100 - 240 VAC (50/60Hz). The PDA15F, PDA30F, and PDA50F models are available in three different output voltages: 5 V, 12 V, and 24 V. Each voltage option corresponds to specific output currents. The output voltage can be modified using an integrated potentiometer.

The PDA series utilizes an optimized quasi-resonant switching topology, resulting in an efficiency of up to 87.5% while operating at 230 VAC with a rated load. The efficiency gain of the PBA series successor surpasses 5 percentage points, resulting in reduced heat dissipation and improved system reliability.
