Littelfuse Introduces Integrated eFuse IC for Backup Power Applications

Littelfuse has announced the launch of LS0502SCD33S, an eFuse IC, which is a complete solution for any system with a backup storage capacitor or capacitor bank. This single-cell supercapacitor protection IC integrates input overvoltage, overcurrent protection, a reverse blocking switch, and supercapacitor charging control circuits. Once the storage element has a full charge, the circuit draws only 2.5 μA while it maintains the supercapacitor or other storage elements in its ready state. When the main supply is removed, the integrated reverse blocking switch will block the current flow from the system rail to the input. The linear charger will be turned on to provide power to the system rail with a low resistance path with up to 2 A current.

The LS0502SCD33S is externally programmable for input current limit, input overvoltage, charge current limit, and charge voltage limit. It provides a flag signal when the input supply is unplugged so that the main system can take action. LS0502SCD33S is available in DFN3X3-10 package.
