Schaffner Introduces Three-Phase EMC Filters for Low Leakage Current Applications

Schaffner, an international leader in the fields of electromagnetic compatibility and power quality, has introduced FN3040, a series of 3-phase EMC/EMI filters. They are designed to filter out signals in low-leakage current applications. These filters themselves have very low leakage current values, making them suitable for grids with very tough requirements and for applications that set values on safety and reliability.

The FN3040 features an ecologically conscious construction without the use of potting compounds or banned substances (RoHS). Used raw materials can be easily separated at the end of the product's lifetime for proper and environmentally safe disposal. It consists of fixed, hinged terminal covers that contribute to overall safety by protecting unintended contact with life conductors. They are included in the standard scope of delivery without any extra cost.

The embedded terminals guarantee user-friendly handling, reliability, and a long-lasting electrical connection provided within an IP00-rated plastic housing that combines with a metal ground plate to achieve the lowest possible product weight, without compromising on the EMC behavior.

These filters require an AC supply of 480 V, have a current rating of 10 - 30 A, and can withstand a surge voltage of up to 4 kV (phase-to-connected earth) at an altitude of up to 2000 meters.
