AiT Semiconductor has announced the release of the AP8012, an advanced AC-DC PWM controller designed for high-performance off-line converters. This integrated solution, which includes a Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) controller and an 800 V avalanche-rugged power MOSFET, aims to simplify design while reducing external components.
The AP8012 is optimized for low standby-power applications, offering features such as burst mode operation and very low power consumption to meet stringent energy-saving regulations. It also boasts excellent EMI performance through frequency modulation and includes a high-voltage start-up circuit to minimize system set-up time.
Key features of the AP8012 include comprehensive protection mechanisms with automatic self-recovery, such as Cycle-by-Cycle current limiting (OCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), under-voltage lockout protection (UVLO), VDD over-voltage protection (OVP), and built-in soft-start functionality. The device supports a wide AC voltage input range from 85 V to 265 V and provides a semi-enclosed steady output power of 6 W.
Available in DIP8 and SOP8 packages, the AP8012 is suitable for various applications, including electromagnetic oven power supplies and small household appliances like coffee machines and electric kettles.
