AiT Semiconductor Launches 3-40 V Low Dropout Voltage Regulators

AiT Semiconductor has introduced the updated A6141 series, a line of low dropout voltage regulators designed to provide efficient power management solutions for a variety of applications. The A6141 series, known for its low power consumption and high accuracy, offers an enhanced performance with an input voltage range of 3 V to 40 V and a maximum output current of 150 mA.

Key Features:

  • Low Power Consumption: The A6141 series operates with a typical quiescent current of only 2.5 µA, significantly extending battery life in portable devices.
  • High Accuracy: The voltage output is accurate within ±2%, with custom options available for ±1% accuracy.
  • Wide Output Voltage Range: The series supports output voltages from 1.2 V to 5.0 V in 0.1 V steps, with customization available for higher outputs.
  • Protection Features: The A6141 includes foldback short-circuit protection, thermal shutdown, and output current limiting, ensuring robust performance under various conditions.
  • Package Options: Available in the compact SOT89-3 package, the A6141 is suitable for space-constrained designs.

Applications:

The A6141 series is ideal for battery-powered equipment, power management in MP3 players, PDAs, digital still cameras, mice, and gaming consoles such as PS2. It also serves as a reliable reference voltage source in systems requiring regulation after switching power supplies.

Enhanced Performance:

With a dropout voltage of 400 mV at 100 mA (for a 5 V output), the A6141 ensures efficient operation even with a small voltage differential. Its excellent load and line transient response make it suitable for applications with fluctuating loads and varying input voltages.

Availability:

The A6141 series is available for order in tape and reel packaging, with a minimum order quantity of 1,000 pieces per reel. The product is RoHS compliant and offered in both standard and halogen-free packages.
