Pulse Electronics is excited to present the versatile PM2277, an automotive-grade flyback gate drive transformer designed to cater to a wide range of IGBT device switching needs. This 1.5 W flyback transformer provides a +20 V output, which can be flexibly transferred to +15 V and -5 V on the customer’s PC board for SiC switching on and off. The extended creepage distance EP9 platform offers a robust 2.5 KV AC withstand voltage in a compact (10.2 x 10.5 x 12.5 mm) SMD platform.
The PM2277 is purpose-built for the Broadcom ACFJ-3540T, with an input voltage range from 8 - 18V and an output of 20 V/1.5 W. It has successfully passed a rigorous 10G vibration reliability test, making it highly reliable in motor environments. This platform also meets the stringent requirements of a 6.2 mm creepage distance and complies with IEC60664 for basic insulation.
“We are delighted to report an overwhelming market interest in our pre-existing industrial-grade version and the extensive range of applications it caters to. The customized EP9 bobbin is specially designed to operate flawlessly in critical motor drive environments, boasting a 6.2 mm creepage distance and basic insulation that provides isolated power solutions for the IGBT inverter circuit. As an AEC-Q200 and 10G vibration-qualified product, it continues to be the most trusted and reliable solution for even the most demanding applications.” commented Gerard Healy, Product Marketing, Power PBU, Pulse Electronics.
The winding is fully automated, making this product well-suited for high-performance, high-reliability requirements in many automotive applications which also require a price-competitive solution.
