AiT Semiconductor Introduces Step-Down DC-DC Converter for Portable Applications

AiT Semiconductor has introduced A7122B, a high efficiency DC-DC stepdown switching regulator that is capable of delivering an output current of up to 2 A. The device operates from an input voltage range of 2.6 V to 5.5 V and provides an output voltage from 0.6 V to VIN (input voltage). Working at a fixed frequency of 2 MHz allows the use of small external components, such as ceramic input and output caps, as well as small inductors, while still providing low output ripples.

The low noise output along with its excellent efficiency is achieved by the internal synchronous rectifier, making A7122B an ideal replacement for large power consuming linear regulators in devices such as cellular phones, digital cameras, MP3/MP4 players, set-top boxes, wireless and DSL modems, USB supplied devices and notebooks, and other portable devices. Internal soft-start control circuitry reduces inrush current. Short-circuit and thermal shutdown protection improves design reliability. The A7122B is available in SOT-25 package.

Key features of A7122B:
