Torex Semiconductor Unveils Synchronous DC-DC Converters for Power Management Applications

Torex Semiconductor has launched the XC9702 series, a 60 V bootstrap synchronous step-down DC/DC converter with integrated Nch-Nch driver FETs, under its Torex Longevity Program (TLP). The new XC9702 converters offer an operating voltage range of 4.5 V to 60 V and can deliver a stable output voltage between 2.5 V and 12 V with a maximum output current of 300 mA.

Key features of the XC9702 series include a 1.0 MHz switching frequency, selectable PWM control for constant frequency operation, and PWM/PFM control for high efficiency across varying loads. The output voltage can be adjusted using an external resistor, making the same part number versatile for multiple power supply lines. Additionally, the soft-start time can be externally adjusted, and a power good function simplifies power supply sequence configuration.

The XC9702 series includes several built-in protection functions such as current limit, over-voltage protection, thermal shutdown, and Lx short protection, ensuring safe operation. Designed for use with low ESR ceramic capacitors, the converters operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40ºC to 125ºC  (Tjmax=150).
