NICHICON Unveils Conductive Polymer Hybrid Capacitors for Automotive Applications

NICHICON CORPORATION has introduced the GXC series, a new line of highly heat-resistant conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitors. The GXC series boasts excellent high ripple current and low ESR performance, meeting the increasing demands of the automotive and telecommunications industries. These capacitors will be showcased at the Automotive Engineering Exposition 2024, held at PACIFICO Yokohama from May 22 to 24.

Overview and Development Background

Previously, NICHICON launched the GYC series, offering high heat resistance and ripple current capabilities. The GXC series now surpasses the GYC series, achieving higher ripple currents and contributing to reduced weight and size in applications through the use of fewer capacitors.

Key features

The GXC series combines conductive polymers and electrolytic solutions, providing the benefits of both aluminum electrolytic capacitors and conductive polymer aluminum solid electrolytic capacitors. This results in higher ripple currents, optimized electrode foil, and highly heat-resistant sealing rubber while maintaining the guaranteed life of 4,000 hours at 135°C or 125°C.
