Vishay Intertechnology, has announced the expansion of its shielded IFDC and semi-shielded IFSC series of wirewound, surface-mount ferrite inductors. The latest additions include three new models in the 2020DE, 3232DB, and 5050HZ case sizes, designed to deliver enhanced performance at a lower cost compared to previous-generation solutions.
Key Features and Advancements:
- Higher Performance in Smaller Sizes: The new inductors — IFDC-5050HZ, IFSC-2020DE-01, and IFSC-3232DB-01 — offer significant performance improvements, such as higher inductance and current ratings, while reducing DC resistance (DCR) by 40%. These devices maintain comparable performance to older ferrite solutions but in a 60% smaller form factor.
- Broad Application Suitability: Designed for a wide range of applications, these inductors are ideal for use in consumer electronics, battery-powered devices, and general computing equipment. They are particularly effective in energy storage and noise suppression roles, thanks to their low loss ferrite core construction and low DCR.
- Enhanced Durability: The new models are capable of operating at temperatures up to +125°C and voltages up to 120 V, making them suitable for demanding environments. The IFDC-5050HZ model, in particular, minimizes EMI and crosstalk with its exterior magnetic material, making it ideal for consumer entertainment and general computing devices.
