Diotec's Z1SMA47 zener diodes are installed in the charging base. The input circuit is as simple as clever: It is a capacitive power supply and an oscillator supplying the transmission coil. Part of the power supply is the Z1SMA47, a 1.5 W / 47 V Zener in a DO-214AC/SMA package. This device allows to meet the EU and US "Energy Star" requirement of less than 1 W of standby power. As such, you can keep the socket permanently connected to the mains, without the need to plug and unplug for every new charging cycle.
