AiT Semiconductor Unveils Li-Ion Battery Charger IC for Portable Equipment Applications

AiT Semiconductor has unveiled the A4063, a constant current, constant voltage Li-Ion battery charger that uses a current mode PWM step-down switching architecture. Using DC-DC control mode, the charge current is set by an external resistor, up to 2 A. With a 1.5 MHz switching frequency, the A4063 provides a small, simple and efficient solution to fast charge single-cell Li-Ion battery.

When the input voltage is lower than 4.35 V, the chip enters the SLEEP MODE, the power consumption will be reduced to 60 μA. Built-in temperature protection and load short-circuit protection ensure the high reliability of the IC. Two LEDs can display various charging states.

The A4063 is available in the PSOP8 package.
