AiT Semiconductor has introduced the AP8344, which provides the necessary features to implement AC-DC or DC-to-DC fixed frequency current-mode control schemes with a minimum number of external components.
The AP8344 is equipped with protection circuitry that includes under-voltage lockout (UVL) and current limiting. Internally implemented circuits include under-voltage lockout featuring start up current less than 0.5 mA, a precision reference trimmed for accuracy at the error amp input, logic to ensure latched operation, a PWM comparator which also provides current limit control, and a totem pole output stage designed to source or sink high peak current. The output stage, suitable for driving N-channel MOSFETs, is low in the off state.
The AP8344 is available in DIP8 and SOP8 packages.
