Phoenix Contact Unveils 20 A Modular Circuit Breaker System for High Reliability Applications

Phoenix Contact has enhanced its Caparoc circuit breaker system by introducing modules capable of overcurrent protection for load currents up to 20 A. This significant addition expands the application possibilities of the customizable modular system, offering greater flexibility for decentralized applications.

These modules are available in fixed nominal currents of 12 A, 16 A, and 20 A as well as in an adjustable version from 12 to 20 A. They enable selective overcurrent protection in series with two-channel circuit breaker modules. The advantages of electronic circuit breakers are thus supplemented by the possibilities of the selective design of conventional circuit breakers. These new modules can now also be used to realize more extensive applications. The clearly structured and selective protection technology makes troubleshooting much easier, resulting in higher application efficiency and reliability.

Key features

  • Incrementally adjustable and fixed nominal currents up to 20 A
  • Coordinated, selective protection in series
  • Potential distributor with up to four loads across 12.4 mm
  • Startup of high loads with active current limitation
  • Electronic interlock
  • Push-in connection up to 4 mm²

Key advantages

  • The customizable standard, with individual combinations of the future-proof modular system
  • Easy operation for everyone through tool-free assembly, uninterrupted installation, and transparent operating state
  • Protection and supply of particularly large loads, thanks to the extended nominal current range up to 20 A
