OMRON Announces New Power Relay for Energy Efficient Applications

OMRON Electronic Components, a global leader in electronic components and products, announced the latest edition of its G5Q global standard compact power relay, G5Q-HR. Originally launched in 2001, the G5Q series has become a trusted standard in compact power relays, with more than 500 million units sold globally.

The G5Q-HR was designed with innovative features that work to enhance performance and extend operational life, even in challenging environments. It is available for use in a variety of applications, including lighting equipment (smart panel/plug, lighting controllers), home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines) and FA equipment (FA controller, I/O module, PLC, FA Inverter).

Key features of the G5Q-HR power relay include:

  • Low power consumption: In response to environmental problems, a latching function has been incorporated to meet demand for energy savings in customers’ equipment, reducing coil power consumption by approximately 99.9%.
  • High inrush current resistance: Compliant with high input load standards exceeding 100 A, ensuring robust performance even under demanding conditions.
  • Compact package: Approximately 45% saving space for 10 A applications, optimizing design flexibility for manufacturers.
