Monolithic Power Systems introduces the MIE1W0505BGLVH DC-DC power module. This isolated, regulated DC-DC module can support 3 V to 5.5 V input voltage (VIN) applications. With excellent load and line regulation, it supports up to 1W of output power (POUT).
The MIE1W0505BGLVH integrates power MOSFETs, a transformer, and a feedback (FB) circuit all in one chip, achieving excellent performance and saving size.
The MIE1W0505BGLVH supports a regulated output voltage (VOUT). When VOUT drops below the target voltage (3.3 V or 5 V), the IC begins switching, delivering power from the VIN pin to the VOUT pin until VOUT reaches the target voltage again.
The MIE1W0505BGLVH also integrates a VOUT feedback block, which can regulate VOUT without needing a traditional optocoupler and a precision configurable reference IC. This small solution provides high reliability compared to traditional isolated power modules.
Full protection features include short-circuit protection (SCP) and over-temperature protection (OTP).
The MIE1W0505BGLVH is available in a small LGA-12 (4 mm x 5 mm) package.
