Analog Devices Introduces 40 V CMOS LDO Linear Regulator

Analog Devices, has unveiled its latest innovation, the ADPL44002, a CMOS-based low dropout (LDO) linear regulator designed for noise-sensitive applications. This high-performance regulator, with an input voltage range of 2.7 V to 40 V, delivers up to 200 mA of output current and offers exceptional noise suppression and power supply rejection.

Key Features of the ADPL44002:

  • Low Noise Performance: Features an ultra-low noise of 20 μVRMS, independent of fixed output voltage, ideal for precision applications.
  • High PSRR: Achieves 78 dB at 10 kHz (VOUT ≤ 5 V, VIN = 7 V), ensuring robust noise immunity.
  • Wide Input Voltage Range: Operates seamlessly from 2.7 V to 40 V.
  • Flexible Output Options: Fixed output voltages of 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, and 5.0 V, with adjustable output capability from 1.2V to VIN − VDO.
  • Energy Efficiency: Low quiescent current of 80μA (typical) and a shutdown current as low as 1.8μA (VIN = 6V).
  • Compact and Versatile Packages: Available in a 2 mm × 2 mm 6-lead LFCSP and a 5-lead TSOT, making it suitable for space-constrained designs.
  • High Precision and Stability: Features a soft-start capability, precision enable, and compatibility with a 2.2μF ceramic output capacitor.

Applications:

  • Industrial and Instrumentation: Supporting noise-sensitive ADC and DAC circuits and precision amplifiers.
  • Medical and Healthcare: Providing reliable performance for medical devices and instrumentation.
  • Communications and Infrastructure: Ensuring stable power for critical communication systems.
  • VCO VTUNE Control: Ideal for powering voltage-controlled oscillators.
