AiT Semiconductor Launches BMIC for Li-Ion/Li-Polymer Batteries

AiT Semiconductor has released the A4030, a highly integrated battery management solution designed to enhance the safety and performance of lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery packs. Targeting single-cell applications, the A4030 combines advanced protection features with low power consumption, making it an ideal choice for portable devices that demand long-term battery reliability.

The A4030 integrates advanced power MOSFETs with a low on-resistance of 50 mΩ, ensuring efficient power handling. It boasts high-accuracy voltage detection circuits and sophisticated delay mechanisms to provide comprehensive protection, including overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, and load short-circuit protections. Additionally, it features robust safeguards against charger and battery cell reverse connections.

With ultra-low standby current of 3.0μA in operation mode and just 0.1μA in power-down mode, the A4030 minimizes energy drain, preserving battery life during storage. The IC also supports 0 V battery charging, a critical function for deeply discharged batteries.

Designed for compact spaces, the A4030 is housed in a DFN6 (2 x 2 mm) package, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from smartphones to wearable devices.
