The MEPG500-1012 from Bel Fuse is an AC-DC Converter designed for applications that require low power loss and simple thermal management. It steps down an AC input voltage of 90 - 264 V to a DC output voltage of 12 V while delivering an output power of 500 W at peak efficiency of 94%. This converter is designed with the new efficient GaN power technology while providing a high-power density of 20.83 W/inch3 at an operating temperature of - 40°C to +70°C. It incorporates a thermal shut-down feature / Dual fusing along with over-temperature, over-voltage, over-current, and short-circuit protection with an option for metal enclosures/accessories against EMI or other external impacts.
This RoHS-compliant converter can provide a standby DC voltage of 5 V while supporting a PGPF signal with an optional remote ON-OFF feature and a provision for I²C interface communication. It is available in a chassis mount package that measures 127 x 76.2 x 40.64 mm and is ideal for therapy devices, hospital beds, imaging equipment, monitoring devices, surgical devices, ultrasound diagnostic equipment/ dialysis equipment, and drug pump applications.
