The ICE5GR1680G from Infineon Technologies is a Fixed Frequency Power IC that converts an AC input voltage of 85-300 V to a DC output voltage of 800 V. It delivers an output power of up to 27 W. This converter is a fifth generation of fixed frequency power ICs that are optimized for off-line switched mode power supply in cascade configuration. It has two separate chips where one is used as a controller while the other is used as an 800 V CoolMOS chip. This power IC offers frequency reduction with soft gate driving and frequency jitter operation that results in lower electromagnetic interference (EMI) and better efficiency between light load and 50% load. It provides selectable entry and exit standby power ABM to ensure flexibility and very low power consumption under standby mode.
This JEDEC-qualified AC-DC converter is equipped with multiple protection functions such as under-voltage, over-load/open loop, and over-temperature with controllable over-voltage protection to support the power supply during failure events. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10 x 1.75 mm and is ideal for Blu-ray players, set-top boxes, LCD/LED monitors, white goods, and auxiliary power supply applications.
