The VIPERGAN50 from STMicroelectronics is a Quasi-Resonant AC-DC Converter that is integrated with an enhancement mode GaN HEMT. It converts an AC input voltage of 85-265 V to a DC output voltage of 9-23 V. The converter provides an output power of 50 W and provides dynamic blanking time and adjustable valley synchronization delay functions to maximize efficiency at any input line and load condition. It consists of a GaN transistor that has a drain-source voltage of 650 V. The converter offers output overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection (OTP), overload protection (OLP), brown-in/out protection, input overvoltage protection (iOVP), and embedded thermal shutdown features. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 6 mm and is ideal for high-efficiency power adapters, fast battery chargers, auxiliary power supplies for appliances, industrial, consumers, and lighting applications.
