The S-82M4AAA-A8T8U from ABLIC is a Battery Protection IC that has been designed to provide secondary side protection for 4-serial cell Lithium-ion rechargeable battery packs. It requires an input voltage of 3.6-24 V. This IC consists of high-accuracy voltage detection circuits (1 detection circuit for each cell) and delay circuits. It monitors the voltage level of each cell and detects over-charge conditions over a voltage range from 3.600 to 5.000 V with an accuracy of ±15 mV. This protection IC has internal circuits to generate delay times and does not require external capacitors. It includes a wake-up function to prevent the fuse from blowing during battery connection and allows the Lithium battery to be connected in any order. This IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2 x 2 mm.
