The MP2759AGQ-0000-P from Monolithic Power Systems is a Switching Charger that has been designed for applications with 1-cell to 6-cell series Li-ion or Li-polymer battery packs. It requires an input voltage of up to 36 V and an input current of less than 3 A. This IC can support various types of battery chemistries with different battery regulation voltage levels. It can charge the battery with an available input power supply in four phases, which include trickle charge, pre-charge, constant current (CC) charge, and constant voltage (CV) charge. This charger IC has input current limiting and minimum input voltage limit function to control the input power and also supports battery over-voltage protection, battery temperature sensing and protection, thermal shutdown, and a charging safety timer for enhanced safety.
It has an integrated reverse-blocking FET transistor and an internal loop compensation to improve power efficiency while eliminating the need for external components.
