The AP62500SJ-7 from Diodes Incorporated is a Synchronous Buck DC-DC Converter that converts an input voltage of 4.5 - 18 V to an output voltage of 0.6 - 7 V. It provides an output current of 5 A. This converter integrates 47 milli-ohms high-side power MOSFET and 18 milli-ohms low-side power MOSFET for high-efficiency step-down DC-DC conversion. It offers three operating modes namely the pulse frequency modulation (PFM), ultrasonic mode (UM), and pulse width modulation (PWM) for control and signaling operations. This DC-DC converter includes a proprietary gate driver scheme to resist switching node ringing without sacrificing MOSFET turn-on and turn-off times, which reduces high-frequency radiation electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise due to MOSFET switching. It adopts constant on-time (COT) control to achieve fast transient response, easy loop stabilization, and low output voltage ripple and contributes to minimizing the external component count.
This RoHS-compliant buck converter is available in a surface-mount package that measures 1.95 x 2.95 x 0.75 mm and is ideal for 5 V and 12 V distributed power bus supplies, home audio, gaming consoles, FPGA/DSP/ASIC supplies, television sets and monitors, network systems, and general purpose point-of-load (POL) applications.
