The 17X HE from Meritor is a Single Rear Drive Electric Axle that has been designed for demanding long-haul duties that carry heavy loads. It delivers a continuous output power of 150 - 200 kW and a peak output power of 250 kW. This e-axle is available in both 6 x 2 tandem axle and 4 x 2 solo axle configurations. It supports new 2.06 and 2.17 super-fast gear ratios for aggressive down-speeding and improved fuel economy. This axle has laser-welded ring gear and differential case to improve durability and reduce churning loss. It offers an efficiency improvement of up to 1% over the 17X EVO model, owing to its high efficiency bearings and integrated meritor lube management system (MLMS) technology.
This class 8-based e-axle consists of lightweight components and reduces cost of ownership, resulting in a lightweight, highly efficient, and low-cost rear drive solution. It is available in a standard package that measures 133 x 117 mm.
