The AxTrax 2 from ZF Commercial Vehicle Solution is an Electric Axle that has been designed for heavy-duty commercial vehicle applications. It delivers a continuous output power of up to 210 kW and a peak output power of 250 kW. This e-axle provides a torque of 19161 lb-ft. It features a coaxial e-axle design incorporating an oil-cooled permanent synchronous motor (PSM) with advanced hairpin e-motor technology and a silicon carbide inverter to provide enhanced efficiency.
This axle is equipped with no-skip shifting strategy to reduce speed loss and prevent torque interruption. It also offers the full neutral capability to improve coasting efficiency. This e-axe uses a smart cooling system that is driven by an on-demand electric oil pump, ensuring optimal performance. It has a unique design to eliminate the need for external high-voltage cables and heat exchanger lines, thereby simplifying installation and integration with standard wheel-end, brake, and suspension systems.
