The SUMO MD HV1500-3P from Dana TM4 is an EV Traction Motor that is ideal for Class 2 to 6 commercial vehicles, light to medium bus platforms, and off-highway applications. This traction motor delivers a peak output power of up to 162 kW.  It provides a torque of up to 1590 Nm and has a speed of less than 3250 rpm. This motor is designed to interface with standard differentials and/or gearboxes and/or e-axles for seamless integration into Dana’s products. It exhibits low electro-magnetic audible noise with low cogging and ripple torque for better NVH. This motor includes a proven permanent magnet technology for optimal efficiency when operated with either a 3-phase or 6-phase high-voltage inverter under variable switching frequencies. It has an outer rotor topology with a double-ended shaft option to ensure maximum torque density and best-in-class power density.


This AEC-Q100/AEC-Q101/AEC-Q200-qualified EV motor performs four-quadrant operation with Reflex gate driver technology, delivering high power and current density in a single solution. It also includes an EMI filter for better electromagnetic compatibility for reduced EMI performance in various automotive applications. This motor is available in an IP 6K9K-rated protective module that measures 417 x 309 mm.
