The ULN62003AS16-13 from Diodes Incorporated is a 7-Channel Darlington Transistor Array IC that is designed to drive multiple types of loads such as solenoids, relays, and DC motors, LED displays, filament lamps, thermal print-heads, and high-power buffers. It requires an input voltage from 2.5 V to 25 V. This gate driver consists of seven open-drain devices with all of their sources connected to a common ground. The output construction of this DMOS has a lower on-resistance compared to common bipolar devices, thereby resulting in reduced power dissipation, allowing the designer with additional flexibility to control more devices and maintain the desired die temperature. It integrates clamping diodes to protect the device when driving inductive loads.
This RoHS compliant gate driver is oppositely pinned to simplify board layout and represents a direct replacement for many common peripheral devices. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 9.80 x 5.80 mm and is ideal for domestic appliances such as window A/Cs, washers/dryers, microwaves/ranges/ovens, and residential and industrial HVAC systems, stepper motor drivers, thermal print heads, and industrial and agricultural automation.
