The 6ED2742S01QXUMA1 from Infineon Technologies is a Three-Phase SOI-based Gate Driver IC that has been designed for battery-supplied BLDC motor control applications. It requires an input voltage of 6 - 140 V. This gate driver includes level shifters, input noise filters, a charging pump, internal drivers, a power management unit, a current sense operational amplifier (CSA), delay blocks, bootstrap diodes, protection circuits. It supports duty cycle operation of 100% using a trickle charge pump and uses integrated bootstrap diodes to supply power to the three externally connected high-side charging bootstrap capacitors. This driver IC maintains minimum driver cross-conduction using a high pulse current buffer stage integrated into the output drivers. It provides adjustable gain using the current-sense operational amplifier (CSA) connected between VSS and COM pins.

The RoHS-compliant gate driver is equipped with built-in over-current protection with a configurable threshold, fault communication, automatic fault clearing, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) to detect and prevent false triggers or short-circuit-related damages. This is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 5 mm and is ideal for servo drives in robotics and factory automation, general-purpose low-voltage drives or inverters, e-scooters, e-bikes, and other e-vehicles that do not require automotive qualification (LSEV), battery-operated small home appliances (SHA), commercial and agricultural drones, professional and consumer service robotics, logistics vehicles (e-forklifts, autonomous warehouse robotics), battery-powered power tools, and gardening/outdoor power equipment (OPE) applications.
