The G1000QC25B from Littelfuse is an Anode Shorted Gate Turn-Off Thyristor that is ideal for traction propulsion, auxiliaries, AC industrial drives, FACT, and active VAr controller applications.  It has a break-over voltage of up to 2500 V and a break-over current of less than 1000 A. This GTO thyristor has a gate trigger voltage of 1 V and a gate trigger current of up to 1.5 A. It offers both symmetrical devices for applications with a reverse blocking requirement e.g., current-source inverters, and asymmetric blocking devices for applications where no reverse blocking requirement exists e.g., voltage-source inverters. This thyristor is available in a surface-mount package that measures 60 x 26 mm.
