The AS1130 from ams AG is a 132-LED Cross-Plexing Driver IC that is ideal for dot matrix displays in mobile phones, personal electronics and toy applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.7 – 5.5 V. It is a compact LED driver circuit that can drive 132 single LEDs and can be analog dimmed over a current range from 0 to 30 mA in 256 steps (8-bit). This LED driver IC facilitates easy programming through an I2C-compatible interface for enhanced flexibility and seamless integration. It incorporates a 12 x 11 LED matrix offering a 1/12 cycle rate to minimize the necessary lines and drive all 132 LEDs through cross-plexing, thereby optimizing PCB space. This RoHS-compliant LED driver IC empowers seamless animation playback by storing up to six frames with individual time delays, optimizing visual appeal while minimizing CPU usage. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.50 x 8.20 x 1.99 mm.
