The KTD2059 from Kinetic Technologies is a Programmable LED Driver that has been designed for AI smart speakers, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi loudspeakers, automotive panels, accent and mood lighting, IoT, gaming PCs, keyboards, controllers, VR, and robotics applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.5 - 5.5 V. This LED driver drives up to 36 LEDs (12 RGBs) and has multiplexed LED current driver outputs. It comprises 36 independent fade-up/down engines that are integrated for independent ramping of each LED’s current during ON/OFF, brightness, and color transitions without software burden.
This IC includes a BrightExtend feature to optionally reduce dropout when the input voltage is too low for the forward voltage of the LEDs, enabling battery-powered applications. It also supports programmable CoolExtend technology to prevent excessive heat by regulating die temperature when the input voltage, current settings, and/or ambient temperature levels are high. This RoHS-compliant LED driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 3 x 3 x 0.52 mm.
