The IS31FL3762-QFLS4-TR from Lumissil Microsystems is a Dots Matrix LED Driver IC that is ideal for mini LED backlighting, RGB keyboard, and LED display (for handheld devices) applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.7-5.5 V and provides an output current of 30 mA. This driver is designed to support 24x2 all the way up to 24x12 LED matrix configurations. It uses a serial bus that conforms to the I2C protocol, which is used to control chip-related functions with two wires – SCL and SDA. This LED driver can individually dim each LED using 12-bit/8 + 4-bit/8-bit/6+2-bit pulse width modulation (PWM) data signal. It provides 8-bit DC scaling data to each color sink and allows linear PWM dimming with a step size of 256 for the DC current, which can be controlled via 8-bit global control and SL registers. 

This TSCA-compliant LED driver detects open- and short-circuit conditions and stores the result in the open/short registers. It uses built-in I2C/SPI interfaces to read out this result and informs the microcontroller unit (MCU) whether the LEDs have been damaged along with the locations of open and shorted LEDs. This RoHS-compliant driver IC also utilizes proprietary algorithms to minimize power bus noise caused by passive components on the power bus. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 6 x 6 mm.
