The IS32CS899-QWLA3-TR from Lumissil Microsystems is an Automotive-Qualified18-Channel LED Driver IC that has been designed for applications in automotive environments such as ambient lighting, dome lighting, and other lighting functions. It requires an input voltage of 2.7-5.5 V. This IC consists of a microcontroller unit (MCU) that includes a 1T 8051 core with enhanced digital signal processing (DSP) function, a 2 KB RAM, a 64 KB e-Flash, timers, serial interfaces, and integrated protection circuits. It can drive individual LED strings or RGB LEDs with 18 high-voltage pulse width modulation (PWM) constant current sources. This AEC-Q100-qualified driver IC’s PWM frequency can be set up to 25 kHz with spread-spectrum and selectable phase delay for optimal electromagnetic interference (EMI) performance. 

The MCU of this driver can perform complex color space conversions and other functions such as pattern animation. This TSCA-compliant driver IC can be controlled through PWM duty, I2C slave, UART/LIN, and SPI interfaces.  It is equipped with blink functions and 8-bit dot correction for accurate RGB mixing, watchdog timers for proper operation of the MCU, and LED fault detection for safety and reliability during color mixing. This RoHS-compliant LED driver is available in a wettable flank surface-mount package that measures 6 x 6 mm and is ideal for welcome lighting, tail light animations, ambient lighting, and automotive/appliance LED lighting applications.
