The HV823 from Microchip Technology is a High Voltage Lamp Driver IC that has been designed for driving EL lamps with a capacitance of up to 50 nF at 400 Hz. It requires an input voltage up to 2 - 9.5 V and an output voltage of 180 V. This LED driver permits the use of high-resistance elastomeric lamp components and features adjustable output lamp frequency to control lamp color, lamp life, and power consumption. It includes an adjustable converter frequency that eliminates harmonics and optimizes power consumption. This IC features enable/disable function and exhibits low current draw under no-load conditions.
