The BD81A76EFV-M from ROHM Semiconductor is an Automotive-Qualified 6-Channel White LED Driver that is ideal for automotive center information display panels, car navigation, cluster panels, HUDs (head-up displays), and small and medium-type LCD panels for automotive use applications. This driver requires an input voltage of 4.5 - 35 V. It features a 6-channel current driver for LED drives and includes a buck-boost current mode DC/DC converter. This driver offers precise control of the DC/DC converter’s oscillation frequency through an external synchronized signal and includes a spread spectrum function for electromagnetic interference (EMI) reduction.

This LED driver IC is equipped with multiple safety features, including under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP), thermal shutdown (TSD), over-current protection (OCP), and short-circuit protection (SCP). It also has built-in LED abnormality detection for open or short-circuit conditions and an output voltage discharge function to prevent issues during startup in buck-boost configurations. This IC is available in a surface-mount package that measures 10.0 x 7.6 x 1.0 mm.
