The BD83A04EFV-ME2 from ROHM Semiconductor is an Automotive Qualified White LED Driver IC that has been designed for driving medium LCD panels.  It requires an input voltage of 4.5 - 48 V. This AEC-Q100 qualified LED driver IC includes circuits for DC/DC control logic, low side FET / pre driver, error amplifier, PWM comparator, minimum channel selector, and current driver. It has a built-in MOSFET to provide boost output and a four-channel current driver for LED drives, making it suitable for high-brightness LED drives. This LED driver IC controls dimming operation using a PWM signal with support for analog dimming. It can also accommodate even higher brightness ranges by combining with PWM dimming, and control DC/DC converters for boost applications.

This LED driver IC consists of built-in under voltage lockout (UVLO), over-voltage protection (OVP), over-current protection (OCP) temperature-shutdown protection (TSD), LED anode/cathode short-circuit protection (Anode/Cathode), LED open/short protection (LED Open/Short), and over-temperature protection (OTP) circuits to prevent false triggers or over-heating-related damages. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 7.8 x 7.6 x 1.0 mm and is ideal for automotive centre information display (CID) panels, navigation cluster cluster panel, head up display (HUD), and other small/medium-sized LCD panels for automotive applications.
