The ATA6824C from Microchip Technology is a High-Temperature H-Bridge Motor Driver IC that is ideal for DC motor control applications in high-temperature automotive environments. It requires an input voltage of 4.8 - 5.1 V and provides an output current of 100 mA. This motor driver features PWM (pulse width modulation) and direction-controlled driving of four externally powered NMOS transistors. It includes a programmable dead time to avoid peak currents within the H-Bridge and has an integrated charge pump to provide gate voltages for high-side drivers and to supply the gate of the external battery reverse protection NMOS. This motor driver features a 5 V/3.3 V regulator and current limitation function and derives reset from the output voltage of the regulator. It has a high-temperature handling capability of up to +200°C.
This motor driver benefits from an on-chip window watchdog timer that provides a pin-programmable time window. It also integrates a high-voltage serial interface for communication with a maximum data rate of 20 Kbaud. This AEC-Q100-qualified motor driver IC is safeguarded with battery overvoltage protection, battery under-voltage management, and over-temperature warning and protection. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 8.40 x 8.40 mm.
