The BD63920MUV from ROHM Semiconductor is a Bipolar Stepping Motor Driver that has been designed to be driven by a pulse width modulation (PWM) current signal. It requires an input voltage of 8-36 V and provides an output current of less than 2 A. This motor driver adopts CLK-IN and PARA-IN driving mode for input interface, making it versatile for various applications. It supports excitation mode that corresponds to full step mode, half step mode, quarter step mode, 1/8 step mode and 1/16 step mode via a built-in digital to analog converter (DAC). This motor driver features built-in spike noise cancel function, freely timing excitation mode switch, and current decay mode switch. It also supports normal rotation and reverse rotation switching function.
This motor driver benefits from thermal shutdown circuit, over-current protection circuit, under-voltage lock out circuit, over-voltage lockout circuit, ghost supply prevention and adjacent pins short-circuit protection. It includes power save function, built-in logic input pull-down resistor and power-on reset function. This micro-miniature and ultra-thin motor driver is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5 x 5 mm and is ideal for multi-function printer, laser beam printer, ink-jet printer, monitoring camera, web camera, sewing machine, photo printer, fax, scanner and mini printer, toys and robotic applications.
