The NEX80601DA from Nexperia is a High-Frequency Quasi-Resonant PWM Controller that is designed with peak current mode control. This PMIC requires a supply voltage of 10-83 V and provides an output voltage of 3.3-21 V. It automatically switches its mode between Quasi-Resonant (QR) mode, Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM) and Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode during load change, to maintain a high efficiency across the entire load range. This PMIC supports Burst Mode (BM) in very light load or no-load condition, to achieve an ultralow standby power. It features 130 kHz or 170 kHz maximum frequency options, incorporates spread spectrum for better EMI and supports internal soft start (SST).
This Si/GaN-compatible PMIC benefits from output over voltage protection (OVP), internal over temperature protection (OTP), external OTP by NTC resistor, VCC over/under voltage protection (VCC OV/UV), line voltage brown-in /brownout (BNI/BNO), output short circuit protection (SCP), CS open/short protection, secondary rectifier short protection (SRSP) and overload protection (OLP) features. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 2.8 x 2.9 x 1.1 mm and is ideal for USB PD/QC chargers, AC-DC adapters for portable devices and auxiliary power for industrial and home equipment applications.
