The MC33PF8200DBES from NXP Semiconductors is a 12 Channel Power Management IC that is designed for NXP’s high performance i.MX 8 and S32x processor-based applications. It requires an input voltage of 2.7 - 5.5 V. This power management IC (PMIC) integrates seven high-efficiency buck converters, four linear regulators with load switch options, and an RTC supply and coin cell charger to control the processor, memory, and miscellaneous peripherals. It has a built-in one-time programmable memory that can store key startup configurations, thereby reducing the number of external components typically used to set the output voltage and sequence of external regulators. This PMIC includes a monitoring circuit along with watchdog timers that function based on ASIL-B safety level standards. It consists of regulator parameters that can be adjusted through a high-speed I2C interface after start-up to offer flexibility for different system states. This PMIC is available in a thermally enhanced surface-mount package that measures 8 x 8 mm and is ideal for automotive applications.
