The SPSB0815-TR from STMicroelectronics is an Automotive Qualified Power Management IC that is ideal for body control modules (BCM), telemetry control units, control panels, seat control modules, sunroof modules, passive keyless entry and start modules, fuel pumps, gear shifters, and gateway applications. It requires an input voltage of up to 28 V and provides an output current of less than 1.25 A. This IC consists of a driver interface with logic and diagnostic capabilities, an LDO regulator, a voltage tracker, P-channel HS drivers, thermal clusters, protection circuitries, and serial interfaces such as SPI, CAN-FD, and LIN. It uses one LDO regulator to supply power to the system’s microcontroller and a voltage tracker to supply power to external peripheral loads such as sensors. This power management IC integrates two separate pins for contact monitoring via the two channels and also supports programmable cyclic sense functionality. It uses the four HS drivers to supply a fixed amount of power either to the external LED modules with high input capacitance value or other external contacts.
This AEC-Q100-qualified IC integrates diagnostic pins at the output side to enable fail-safe signalization along with open-load diagnosis for all the outputs. It includes protection circuitries such as over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage detection/protection, and a programmable reset generator for power-on and under-voltage lockout (UVLO), thereby preventing over-load or false trigger events. This IC further supports temperature warning and protection with thermal clusters, improving the overall reliability over the operating temperature range. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 5.0 x 5.0 x 1.0 mm.
