The ALD2721DB from Advanced Linear Devices is a Dual Monolithic Rail-to-Rail CMOS Operational Amplifier that has been designed to offer high precision and programmability in an extremely small form factor. It requires a supply voltage of 2 - 10 V and an input offset and bias current of up to 10 pA. This op-amp provides an output voltage of 4.9 V, a large signal voltage gain of 100 dB, and a common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of less than 90 dB. It includes individual user-programming offset voltage trimming to enhance total system performance and user flexibility. This amplifier integrates electrically programmable analog device (EPAD) technology to support analog applications where precision voltage trimming is necessary to achieve the desired performance. It utilizes CMOS field effect transistors (FETs) as in-circuit elements to trim the offset voltage with the aid of a personal computer under software control.

This operational amplifier equips rail-to-rail input/output voltage ranges, over-voltage spike protection (300 mV beyond supply rails), capacitive loading up to 50 pF, and a useful bandwidth of 700 kHz, contributing to enhanced protection and high accuracy. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 19.94 x 8.26 mm and is ideal for sensor interface circuits, transducer biasing circuits, biochemical probe interfaces, signal conditioning, periodic in-system calibration, and portable applications.
