The PD-AS-951/12-24 from Microchip Technology is a 1-Port IEEE 802.3af/at-Compliant Splitter that enables data terminals that were not originally designed to accept power from the Ethernet to be powered by power-over-ethernet (PoE) midspans. It requires an input voltage of 44-57 V, delivers an output power of up to 54 W, and a data rate of 10/100/1000 Mbps. This power splitter splits power and data and delivers the output to the individual power and data output ports. It is identified as a powered device (PD) in front of the powering midspan and after being detected and powered, the splitter can physically split the data and power systems arriving over a single cable, into two separate cords.
This power splitter also has indicators to indicate the output power level. It is available in a module that measures 73 x 130 x 38 mm and is ideal for WiMAX CPEs, small WiMAX base stations, 802.11 access points, thin clients, and video phone applications.
